Michele Huntoon, CPA

As Associate Vice President, Michele Huntoon, CPA, will contribute tremendous practical experience to the Management Consulting team for SSC’s clients. Michele has first-hand experience of the demands that school district administrators contend with on a daily basis. She serves SSC clients by conducting fiscal health analyses, performing multi-year financial projections, performing school district organization and efficiency studies, assisting clients with the implementation of the Standardized Account Code Structure (SACS), and addressing Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Statement 34 issues.

Her experience includes auditing school districts and county offices of education and working at the Placer County Office of Education. Her most recent position was as an independent CPA consulting with school districts and county offices of education, primarily for SACS conversions from start to finish, in addition to other fiscal duties, such as budgeting, categorical reporting, payroll and MIS issues, and policies and procedures.

Michele earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from CSU Sacramento. She has also received her certification as a Certified Public Accountant.

Michele is active in the California Association of School Business Officials, where she served as chairman of the Sacramento Section Accounting Research and Development Committee, and facilities chairman for the annual conference. She currently serves on the State GASB 34 Advisory Committee and on the GASB 34 Subcommittee for Training as the CASBO representative.
