Joint Committee to Develop a Master Plan for Education Needs Help. The Joint Committee to Develop a Master Plan for Education-Kindergarten through University is undertaking a comprehensive examination of key issues impacting education in California. The legislative committee hopes to develop cohesive policy, governance, and finance frameworks to guide future decision making across all education segments. The Joint Committee will organize its work by subject area, and will create and utilize auxiliary, advisory-working groups for each subject area to assist in the identification of problems and the development of policy options to resolve them.
To assist the Joint Committee and advisory working groups, the committee is looking to hire a consultant to work closely with the leadership and staff of the Joint Committee. The consultant will be responsible for coordinating all meetings and other activities of the working groups. The consultant will develop policy reports or briefings for use by members of the working group and the Joint Committee and will provide research, statistical and other data important in allowing the working group to make informed decisions. The consultant will prepare the final written report of the working group and present it to the Joint Committee.
The Joint Committee is looking for someone familiar with the education systems of California, with particular knowledge of the subject area being examined by the working group she/he is serving. Actual salary will be commensurate with experience (approximate range: $60,000-$100,000). Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter describing their interest, and a sample of professional writing to the Joint Committee at 1020 N Street, Room 560, Sacramento, CA 95814.
