Governor Davis Appoints New Board of Governors Member. Governor Davis recently made his first appointment to the California Community College Board of Governors (BOG). The governor will be able to make at least four other appointments during 2000. By the year 2001, the 15-member board will have a majority of Davis's appointees.

The newest member of the BOG is Richard H. Leib of Solano Beach. He is currently the vice-president of legislative affairs and municipal services for Lockheed Martin, where he is responsible for all national and state legislative activities. He is also a member of the Coro Foundation, the State Assistance Fund for Enterprise and the Kopp Foundation.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a master's degree in public policy analysis from Claremont Graduate School and a juris doctorate degree at Loyola Marymount University.
