Board of Governors Elects Officers for 2000. The newly elected President
of the California Community College Board of Governors is Rosemary E. Thakar
of San Francisco. Ms. Thakar was appointed by former Governor Pete Wilson
and her term expires January 15, 2001. Thomas F. Kranz of Los Angeles was
elected Vice-President, his term expires January 15, 2002.
Governor Davis will be able to appoint four new members to the Board in January 2000. Current members Richard Alden, Vishwas More and faculty representatives Irene Menegas, and Patricia Siever, all have terms that expire on January 15, 2000.
