Lassen College Hires New Interim CEO. The Lassen Community College District (LCCD) is in the process of hiring a new interim president/superintendent. In July, the Board of Trustees gave authorization to appoint Dr. Douglas B. Houston to the position. 

Houston was one of three candidates considered for the position. Dr. Houston is currently the Vice President for Human and Information Services at Butte-Glenn Community College. 

According to a district press release, “Dr. Houston has served California Community Colleges in a number of administrative positions. He is a person of high integrity with exceptional communication skills. He served as the executive director for the California Community College Technology Center and has an excellent knowledge of the accreditation process.” 

While the Board approved his appointment, the district is still in negotiations with Houston, so a start date is pending.
