Community College Select Committee Gets New Chair. Assembly Member Mary Hayashi’s office reports Speaker Fabian Núñez has appointed her chair of the Select Committee on Community Colleges. Other committee members listed were: Julia Brownley (D-Santa Monica), Mervyn Dymally (D-Los Angeles), Ted Gaines (R-Roseville), John Laird (D-Santa Cruz), Sally Lieber (D-Mountain View), Bill Maze (R-Visalia), Anthony Portantino (D-Pasadena) and Van Tran (R-R-Costa Mesa).
