Board of Governor’s Appointees. Prior to voting on and passing the tweaked Budget on September 19, 2008, the Senate took up gubernatorial appointments. The appointees had been approved by the Senate Rules Committee earlier this year, but their Senate confirmations had been delayed by the ongoing Budget impasse.
The Senate confirmed, on a unanimous vote of 31-0, Board of Governors’ appointees Robert “Bobby” MacDonald and Alice Perez.
The Senate also confirmed two gubernatorial appointees to the Teachers’ Retirement Board—Kathleen Brugger, who has spent more than 13 years on the Board of Chaffey Community College District, was unanimously confirmed; Elizabeth “Beth” Rogers was also confirmed on a vote of 21-10.
