Legislative Proposals Already Blossoming for 1997
The ink is barely dry on the Governor's pen and new legislative proposal
suggestions are starting to surface. Community college organizations and
faculty unions have begun to formulate ideas for their legislative agendas
for the 1997 legislative session. The proposals are still in the development
stages and have not been officially designated as proposed legislation, at
this time. As a result, sponsors of the proposals are being omitted until
the proposals are officially adopted by the respective organizations. Again,
these are just ideas &emdash; but I though Update readers would like to know
some of the proposals that the legislature may be considering next year.
Don't get to excited one way or the other about most of the above suggested proposals, however, they may never get into print. But stay tuned, the Update will keep you informed if any of these proposals gain momentum and become legislation.
