Ronald W. Bennett - President and CEO

Ron has enjoyed a long career in public business and finance. He is among the state’s foremost authorities on school governance, budget management, school facilities, and collective bargaining. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Superintendent in Long Beach, Fresno, and ABC Unified School Districts.

John D. Gray - Executive Vice President

John has spent his career in public accounting and school finance. He draws from his experience as both an external and internal auditor to help districts solve budgeting problems and proactively address needs in the areas of collective bargaining, management structure and process, fiscal health, and chief business official searches.

Robert Miyashiro - Vice President
Robert is a seasoned Capitol insider with more than 25 years of experience in the legislative and executive branches of California government. In addition, he has also overseen the School Finance Division of the California Department of Education. Robert applies his expertise on how the State Budget process affects California schools as as an advocate on behalf of school agencies and as a provider of management consulting support.

Sheila G. Vickers - Vice President
Sheila has more than two decades of experience as a fiscal advisor to and manager of school districts, community colleges, and other public agencies. She is among a handful of state-appointed Fiscal Advisors assigned to fiscally troubled school agencies and is also a noted expert on human resources and budget management practices.

Carol Ansier, CPA - Controller
Carol Ansier, CPA, Controller, has more than 20 years of accounting experience, including nine years in Public Accounting and more than 11 years in Private Industry. Carol graduated from the California State University, Sacramento, in 1987 with a degree in Accounting and obtained her CPA license in 1990. Her background and experience provide her with the necessary skills to successfully manage all day-to-day accounting activities of School Services of California, Inc., and help steer the company properly into the future.

Maureen Evans - Vice President

Maureen Evans, Vice President, has held positions at every level from school site to top-level administration, most recently serving as Assistant Superintendent, Business Services, in Little Lake School District. Maureen was responsible for all business and finance functions and served as a key member of the district’s cabinet. Her prior positions, including CBO in the La Cañada USD and Director of Budget for Long Beach USD, make her a valuable resource for educators in California.

Dave Heckler - Director, Technology and Legislative Services
Dave Heckler, Director of Technology and Legislative Services, brings a wealth of political and policy expertise to School Services of California. Dave has been with School Services since 2006, and provides SSC’s clients with valuable information on what’s happening in the State Capitol regarding legislative and budget matters.

Ann Hern - Director, Management Consulting Services
Ann Hern, Director of Management Consulting Services, has served in increasingly responsible fiscal positions in California school districts for more than 20 years. She most recently served as the Assistant Superintendent for Business and Administration at Byron Union School District. Prior to that, she was Director of Business Services for Riverbank Unified School District and Budget Analyst with the Tri-Valley Regional Occupational Program.

Jeff Bell, Director, Management Consulting Services

Jeff Bell, Director, Management Consulting Services, has served in the Education Unit at the State Department of Finance during three different Administrations, and he brings many years of education finance and legislative experience, most recently as an Assistant Program Budget Manager for budget, legislative, and policy issues surrounding the K-12 education budget. At SSC, Jeff provides consulting services in all areas of finance review and operations management. He is recognized as a top expert in the management of categorical programs as well.

Michael Ricketts, Associate Vice President

Michael Ricketts, Associate Vice President, brings more than 25 years of experience in public education policy and finance. Michael’s background includes serving for the past four years as Deputy Director of the California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA) where he was responsible for state and federal advocacy. In the past, he served as Chief Consultant to the Assembly Education Committee, staffed the Facilities and Finance Working Group for the Joint Committee to Develop a Master Plan for Education, and as Interim Undersecretary of Education and Assistant Secretary for Fiscal Policy under former Governor Gray Davis.
