The 2026-27 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is the last year of the most recent three-year cycle. We are still waiting for final decisions as part of the 2025-26 State Budget negotiations to determine whether additional Learning Recovery Emergency Block Grant (LREBG) funding will be provided, which would require all local educational agencies (LEAs) to incorporate the funding in the LCAP. Further, beginning in 2027-28, LEAs will be required to assess the overall effectiveness of their LREBG actions. With these changes, however, we have some stability. With the exception of the ongoing development of the Science Indicator , there will be three years of full California School Dashboard data available to inform the LCAP development and the midyear update. This webinar will provide an overview of the accountability system for those new to the LCAP process, and, for all attendees, guidance on the template and information on any anticipated changes. LEAs are encouraged to send a team, including instructional leaders, human resources professionals, fiscal personnel, and key program staff.
