Beginning January 1, 2027, California public school employers will be required to provide paid Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL) to eligible employees experiencing disability due to pregnancy or related conditions. This technical webinar provides a comprehensive overview of the new law, operational guidance for implementation, and implementation considerations for human resources (HR), payroll, and business services. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of eligibility, leave administration, budgeting, payroll, and operational compliance considerations to prepare their local educational agency (LEA) for successful implementation.
Paid PDL is transformative new policy, representing an investment in supporting pregnant LEA employees by protecting current earnings and preserving retirement service credit.
