K-12 education funding is largely driven by a local educational agency’s (LEA) average daily attendance (ADA), making consistent student attendance critical for both funding and learning outcomes. However, absences and emergency events can disrupt instructional time, student learning, and lead to lost attendance.
This roundtable will explore how LEAs can leverage makeup attendance and attendance recovery options and the use of Expanded Learning Opportunities Program funding to restore instructional time and improve ADA. Participants will gain clarity on attendance accounting requirements and practical approaches to implementing effective attendance recovery programs.
